Porsche UAE Club Event @ Yas Marina Circuit

Porsche UAE Club had its most recent event at the state-of-the-art Yas Marina F1 Circuit. Everyone was out and looking good in those beautiful examples of Porsche engineering and style.

The cars are lined up and ready to go. A motley crew of drivers and their performance Porsches chomping at the bit to tackle Yas Marina.

A little time in the pit garage for some last minute instructions and safety gear. Look at those lovely white helmets. Class and performance all rolled up into to one.

And after you speed down the straight looking for the lap record, you’ll need some serious brakes to help you hit the apex of that first turn. It’s hard to challenge the leaders when you’re in the wall.

Yas Marina showed the Porsche UAE Club an excellent time once again. Special thanks to all those who made this possible. And those Brembo brakes really did shine brightly under those bright lights.

Porsche Track Day Dubai

Porsche Track day at Yas Marina Circuit went off without a hitch. Another successful event put on by our partners Porsche Club UAE and BREMBO. We here at ORZ Performance like to make sure everyone is safe while they’re having fun, so we inspected everyone’s brakes before they got on the F1 track. What’s the point of speeding down the straight if you can’t brake to take the next corner?

Visit ORZ Performance for more information on Porsche track day events.

Porsche Club UAE Events: Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East at Dubai Autodrome

Our friends at Porsche Clube UAE events had another one this past weekend. Here area a few pictures from their road trip to the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East at the Dubai Autodrome

One of our favourite Porsche Club UAE Events is to the 5.39km track at the Dubai Autodrome which is one of the most modern in the world. It is also one of the most challenging, as it has a combination of high-speed straights and technical corners. The venue is part of the Union Properties Motorcity.

The circuit, which contains six different configurations, is designed to allow three circuits to operate simultaneously, safely, and independently from each other. The result presents circuit users with unparalleled options.

In recent years, Dubai Autodrome has deliberately positioned itself as the home of UAE national motorsport. The goal is to develop and promote UAE motor racing at a national level by hosting the main portion of the UAE National Championship races at the circuit. Through the DAMC the venue hosts the Total UAE GT Championship, UAE Sportscar Championship, the Total UAE Touring Car Championship, and the UAE Sportbikes Championship.

The highlight of the local motorsport calendar has been the Dubai Motorsport Festival which takes on a distinctly local flavour with the catch phrase being: a celebration of UAE motorsport.

Dubai Autodrome started to hold international motorsport events shortly after the circuit was complete in 2004. Since then a number of illustrious events has taken place at the venue including rounds of the: FIA GT Championship, World Touring Car Championship, A1GP, World Series by Renault, Dunlop 24 Hours Endurance Series, and the Grand Racing weekend featuring Speedcar Series and GP2 Asia Series.

Some of the world’s most famous drivers have driven competitively or visited the circuit including the likes of Michael Schumacher, Jacques Villeneuve, Kimi Raikkonen, Johnny Herbert and Jean Alesi to name just a few.

The Dunlop 24 Hour of Dubai endurance race has become a mainstay of the international motorsport calendar and is the first major road racing event on the global calendar of any given year. Hosted at Dubai Autodrome, the round attracts a huge entry of teams and drivers from all corners of the world including a number of teams and drivers from the UAE.

Porsche Safety Cars

Porsche safety car? The best of both worlds.

Performance, style, and safety?! How can you argue with that? Here are three great examples of the breed.

Have you ever wanted the safety car more than the cars actually racing? The paint job, the authority, and the fact that it’s a production car. One of these times, the driver might just decide he wants to see if he can compete. Now that would be fun to watch. Tell us what you think. What’s your favourite safety car?

Porsche Club UAE Drive

Porsche Club UAE’s awesome view

How about this view from the Porsche Club UAE? This is what side view mirrors were designed for.

Porsche Club UAE in view

On Friday, October 25th, the Porsche Clube UAE said goodbye to summer with a drive to Fujairah.

After breakfast, the club headed out to the desert and some of the finest mountain roads the UAE has to offer. The drivers moved towards the east coast, drove through the Hajjar mountains, and witnessed the finest scenery the UAE has to offer. The final destination was the Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort which is nestled between the Hajjar mountains and the Indian Ocean. This resort has often hosted Porsche Club UAE events.

After enjoying the wonderful buffet, and relaxing by the water, it was time to head back to Dubai. All in all, it was another great Porsche Club UAE event.

Porsche GT3

New Porsche GT3 is the best Porsche yet!

The new Porsche GT3 is here and it is probably the best Porsche yet. And that’s saying a lot.

porsche gt3

The last GT3 was quite a car. While not the best looking Porsche, it was the best driving one. It was at home on the track or through the twists. This one is the same, but better.

The new GT3 has 475 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. It goes 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 195 mph (313 kph).

It’s slightly lighter and longer than the last generation. And just like the last generation, it enjoys the open road much more than city traffic.

normal-1

And to that, there is only one transmission: a seven speed automatic. Porsche claims a human can’t keep up with the high revving engine. This coupled with the electronic and four wheel steering makes this a truly new GT3.

No matter how you feel about the changes, this is sure to be a dream to drive.

Once again the race track season from Porsche Club UAE kicked off at Yas Marina Circuit with Brembo HP brakes at their Porsche Driving Experience XLII Event on 20th September 2013.

This event is a specialty of the Porsche Club UAE and has been developed as training for new Porsche owners, as well as the most experienced drivers of the Club. According to that the drivers will be split into separate groups for Novice and Intermediates.

This new season marks the second anniversary for ORZ Performance as the proud sponsor of Porsche Club UAE. This partnership was chosen by the Porsche Club UAE director and his committee as ORZ Performance is the official distributor for Brembo HP, High Performance, brakes in the Middle East. Brembo itself is the world leader in brake kits. The partnership between Porsche and Brembo originated back in the 1980’s with their Mobil 1 Supercup cars.

We were ecstatic to receive a statement from Mr. Al Azhari, the director of Porsche Club UAE and winner of countless races in the Middle East. “I am pleased to inform you the braking performance of the 911 GT2 on Circuit in our UAE heat has never been as good as now since upgrading to the Brembo GT kit.”

An opinion, which by now, is shared by more members of the Porsche Club UAE.

ORZ Performance used the anniversary to give the members special attention with providing promo girls to the ORZ crew doing the check up on the brakes. The information to the driver at their arrival at Yas Marina was appreciated as many did not know of the benefits of a larger brake kit.
